The spots on my 23-year-old gelding ... What are they?
My horse is 23 years. In each of the legs is formed from an area the size of a half dollar, and the layers of dry skin, like moles gray and dry. It is in a pasture, use one of our horse ranch and fed grass and alfalfa hay at a time ... Have you any idea what could be?
Oh ... and .... No one is about an inch from the mother chestnuts, and others are Väring places, but only on the legs

I have 8 years does not take a bath with shampoo as good as ever, only when necessary ... Use mane and tail ... He is a bay gelding. There is another mother ... I'm pretty sure it's not ringworm ... aroung 100 horses were geldings, and none of us (or other mares and stallions for that matter) has spots .... How do you feel does not sound so painful to the touch, if we react / feel, really!

It would be better to have your vet look at him. Most of these things might be, sarcoidosis, or other type of tumor of the skin are a problem. When sarcoidosis, do not try to do something - they tend to deteriorate when a fault with them. I have to get rid of 3 years and several thousand $ $ sarcoid on my mare.

It is better to be safe, and that his eye injury to a veterinary persistent skin.

Hmm. This could be an infection of the skin. It could be scratched if you have your legs white ...

Sounds like dermatitis. Eczema is a disease that place at the scaly dry place.

To treat this condition, please contact your veterinarian. Bathe the horse, and rub the surface with soap. Also remove the hair long in the region.

But dermatitis can cause itching. Has your horse, rub the infected areas often? If not, then it could be that the pain of the summer the biting flies and ussually get experience in some areas.

Best wishes!

Horses can warts! I had to save a horse, on the upper lip. That's what it sounds like me .... They are not painful, it looks bad. Where do you live with that many horses? As for me on my way to get to 151 hectares WY! I can not wait!

Are insect bites? This is what your skin is normal, as if one irratated horses. If it does not bother him, brushes, and perhaps put a balm on them. It is always the best idea to not know your vet a call, really.
